Sometimes you find yourself face-to-face with situations so horrifically bad that you can't help but laugh. It's like your brain tries to process the sheer extent of unadulterated absurdity and just throws its hands up, opting for a weak, desperate giggle as a coping strategy.

Awful Day Ever

It all started with a terrible case of uncontrollable hair. I couldn't make it to look presentable. As I was running out the door, I fell and landed all over myself. To make matters worse, I was extremely late for school.

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to run away and hide.
